WHAT WOULD THE LIFE BE IF WE WERE RESIDING IN MERCURY?
What would the life be if we were residing in Mercury? Hmm... That is a tricky one. But one thing would be clear. We and the others would be floating this very minute because Mercury has a very low gravitational pull. Air conditioners would have been invented a long time before because Sun would have been just about 66.6 million kilometer away. It would have been a hell lot of trouble to squeeze in 7.9 billion people in this small planet. Moreover, life in mercury would be like life in a desert. People would be receiving extreme heat for the first 58 days and extreme cold for the next 58 days. This is because Mercury takes about 58 days and 15 hours to rotate around its axis and the side facing the Sun faces extreme heat while the side facing away from the Sun shivers because of unbelievable coldness. Remember, night would be fully dark because there would be no moon to reflect light of the sun and light up the night sky. The best thing and the worst thing would be that you would celebrate your birthday every 88 Earth days. The good thing here would be that you would get tons of gifts every 88 days. Worst part would be that you would be a grandpa in Mercury too soon. That would be funny for everyone expect for you. Well, another bizarre thing that 1 Mercury year consist of about 1.5 Mercury days. Yes, you read it right. It because, as we have already discussed, 1 Mercury year is 88 Earth days while 1 Mecury day is about 58 Earth days. Pretty weird, eh?
Nevertheless to say, it would have been a tough time living in Mercury. Why? Take this for instance. Did you ever wonder about Mercury's craters? These craters is because of the meteorites crushing the surface of Mercury because of its improper atmosphere. Could you expect us to dodge all these meteorites? We are not supermen or something to survive those tough conditions. You might be wondering about I missing to tell the water and air conditions of Mercury. To tell the truth, I did not. The water and air conditions of Mercury are way worse that moon or Mars. So if we were living on Mercury, we would be looking TOTALLY different because of evolution. Maybe you might not recognize yourself. Ha!
So, the question arises. Can we really live of Mercury? If you were asking this question about before 100 million years, I might have said yes. But now, it is a big NO. The scientist believe that we, humans, have a very less possibility of evolving. So, without evolution, life is not possible on Mercury. Just out of curiosity, why would anyone like to live on an unknown planet when he/she can live in peacefully in our home planet? Just comment me and tell me what is your answer!
We'd be dead. Lol.
