Why are we afraid of them?

Sharks. They are very interesting water-living animals. They have very good eyesight and sense of smell. Anyway, they don’t need any of them to catch their prey. They can also sense electricity, for instance, a beating heart. Some say that they swallow their prey whole! What would you do in the shark’s stomach? Cut your way out? Nah, sharks are way intelligent for that. Oh no! Shark is out there waiting for you! Run for your lives!

 

Scientific Facts:

Sharks are intelligent. Agreed. But you know one thing. Shark attacks are so rare that only 1 unfortunate person gets killed every year. Yeah just one. And that too these attacks occur when sharks mistake humans as seals. Seals are like chocolates to sharks. When they sense someone paddling, they think that it is a Seal and.... you know the rest. After hearing this, you might be like- ‘Woah just one. That is just great!’ in a sarcastic way but if you see the actual figures of people dying from Heart attack, you might just ignore sharks from your head. And Sharks don’t swallow their prey. They rip flesh with their teeth and swallow them. I suppose that info did a little to overcome your fears, but still...

 

Ways to be safe from Sharks:

Knowing that just 1 person gets killed by sharks, you might freely start to stroll along a shark-inhabited beach. Remember. You could the one who can get killed. Follow these few things, you would enjoy sun baths and, at the same time, would be cautious too.

  1. If you see any shark tooth or know that the place is shark-inhabited, you must leave the place immediately, unless you want your leg bitten.
  2. Avoid beached at early mornings and evenings. Sharks hunt at cool times of the day.
  3. It is best to not to go for scuba diving or paddling in a unknown water body. Who knows sharks are present there or what. Putting on a seal costume would not help either.
